31 Days to a New OOH!
Why is it that whenever the New Year rolls around, we all feel like we have to make resolutions that are more about punishment than pleasure? Some of the most common New Year's resolutions are really about the ways that the world tells us we're broken or lacking, and the pressure we feel to fix ourselves.
No wonder they're so hard to keep-- how exhausting and discouraging is it to spend every day thinking about not being good enough?
That's why this year, we're launching a brand-new campaign on Instagram called 31 Days to a New OOH. Every day in January, we'll be offering tips, ideas, and deep thoughts about the many ways that you can bring more luscious, sex-positive energy into your life, lovingly tend to your sexual health and wellness, and give yourself all the pleasure you crave. It's aimed at everyone, no matter your age, body type, or even relationship status-- you don't need to have a partner to be sexually active and enjoy your body.
Week by week
Week 1 is all about sexual health & hygiene, with best practices to care for your body and toys. Week 2 is all about vibrators; there are so many types for different areas of your genitals that we need a whole week just to scratch the surface of what's out there! In Week 3, we encourage you to explore your wildest frontiers, with sex toys and techniques you might have fantasized about but never tried. Week 4 wraps our campaign in luxurious delight, as we offer ideas for indulgent treats that'll help you get your groove back and put you in the mood.
Why 31 days?
It takes time and repetition to form new habits. Focusing on something new for about 30 days is a rule of thumb for turning it into a habit you don't need to think about all the time in order to achieve it. By checking in with our IG every day in January, you're keeping your own sexual wellness at the front of your mind, and teaching yourself that your pleasure and your body matter to you.
Can't start right away, or coming to it late? No problem! The month of January fits neatly into our new year energy, but it's no less valid if you do it in any other month or overlap a couple of months. Take those of our suggestions that excite and interest you, and don't feel pressured to take all of them. This is supposed to fit YOUR needs!
One last piece of advice about change
Change is a wonderful thing, and it can be really energizing and exciting to dive into a new year full of motivation and big plans! But it's also true that a lot of people find they can't sustain that change for more than a few weeks, and end up feeling even worse about themselves because of it.
We recommend giving yourself permission to try out your New Year's goals and see if they work for you, and to make it okay to let them go if they don't. It can be really hard to make lasting change, especially at a time of year when we're all worn out from the holidays and struggling with the weariness or depression we feel in the darkest days of winter.
Set yourself a realistic goal-- just making a point to follow our posts every day will make a difference in your life, so if that's all you have time or energy for, great! Also, it's very hard to make more than one big change in your life at a time. If revving your sexual engine is your biggest focus right now, then go for it. Immerse yourself and throw lots of time and energy into it-- but don't also promise yourself that you'll lose 30 lbs and completely remake your relationship to money. And if there's another area of your life that needs big change more urgently right now, put your big efforts there, and keep it simple and easy with your sexy self-care habits. Once you've made some transformations in your focus area, you can ease off the gas a bit and shift gears to tackle something else.
Most importantly, we hope that 2020 will be a year of wholeness, self-love, and being gentle with yourself! Drop us a comment and let us know how we can support you in that journey, and don't forget to follow us on Instagram so you don't miss a post.
