Parking
Metered street parking is available on Patrick Street and Henry Street, which are the cross streets that hug Lotus Blooms. Two-hour free street parking is available on Cameron Street (the next street behind the store) and also on one side of Patrick Street. There is no parking on King Street directly in front of our address.
Paying for Parking
Metered parking accepts credit cards, coins, or the ParkMobile app. (Used to be Pango app, but that is no longer in use).
Discount Garages due to closures:
Starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, evening (after 5PM) and weekends rates have been reduced at City garages and lots. Courthouse Garage offers a $1 flat rate and all other City garages and lots will offer a $2 flat rate.
Public Transportation
The King Street Metro station (Blue & Yellow lines) is approximately 7 blocks west of our store. From the station, walk south to King Street and then go left on King Street.
NOTE: Alexandria’s four Metrorail stations will be closed for renovation during the summer of 2019, from May 25 through September 8, 2019. Fortunately, there are many ways to travel between Washington DC and Alexandria.
1) Free Shuttles between Metro Stops
If you prefer taking the Metro, you can continue to do so during the closure of Alexandria’s four stations by catching one free shuttles from Alexandria’s stations to other nearby stations.
FREE SHUTTLE HOURS: Mon. - Thurs.: 4:30 a.m. - Midnight Fri.: 4:30 a.m. - 1:30 a.m. | Sat.: 6:30 a.m. - 1:30 a.m. | Sun.: 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
2) Water Taxi
What a fun addition to a trip! Hop on the Water Taxi that runs between Old Town Alexandria & the Wharf in DC. It also has stops in Georgetown, Nationals Park, National Harbor, and Mount Vernon. Visit PotomacRiverboat.com for more info. Costs between $10-12 one way and estimated time is 30 minutes.
3) Lyft
Ridesharing is always a great option and saves you money on parking! Plus, it means you can indulge in all the cocktails that Old Town has to offer. If you haven’t used it before, save $5 on your first Lyft ride with the code: VISITALX19. Costs about $15-20 one way and takes about 20 minutes. Use 1017 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 as your destination.
4) Buses
The AT2, AT7, AT8, and KST buses stop at the intersection of King Street and S. Patrick Street one block east of our store, and at King Street and N. Fayette Street one block west of our store.
