Can I Tie My Corset Myself?
Can I Tie My Corset Myself?
Yes, you can tie yourself into your steel boned corset. Yes, it is more challenging than having someone assist you- at least at first. And Yes, it is a learning process. But you can totally do it! We believe in you.
Maybe you want to surprise your partner, or maybe you are an independent babe who doesn't need nobody. Either way, even a beginner can learn to tie yourself into your own corset.
Practice Makes Perfect, and Patience is Key. The more you do it, the more you'll know which strings to pull which way, and how to "undo" it when you pulled the wrong cord. We always recommend taking time to familiarize yourself with the lacing pattering before trying to tie yourself into it. Practice tightening and loosening the strings while your corset is laying on your lap, before trying to twist your arms around your back to tie yourself in.
Ok, now that you've practiced, here's what you'll need to successfully tie yourself into your corset:
- A mirror, full length would be ideal but at least a mirror that you can see your torso in. This way you can see which strings you are pulling.
- About 15-20 minutes set aside. Don't set yourself up for failure by only leaving yourself 3 minutes before the Lyft arrives to put your corset on. Instead, get 99% dressed and ready in everything else you'll be wearing, go pee, and pour yourself a drink. Then saunter over to the mirror and take your time lacing yourself up.
- A doorknob. For most people, the most difficult part is pulling the loops tight enough- not everyone has long arms. So, once you've done your pass to create the slack, wrap the loops around a door knob that is behind you, and walk forward, using the tension to pull the loops. Do this to tighten after each pass.
That's it! You did it, you tied yourself into a corset. Now go show off your stuff!
